Living in the United States, we have many things to be proud of, but first and foremost are the freedoms we enjoy daily. Today, we honor the men and women who donned our country's uniform and risked their lives to defend those freedoms, to protect our communities, and safeguard the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Congressman Fleischmann attended the Department of Energy's 40th birthday celebation, applauding the work done by the DOE over the last 40 years including that at Y-12 and Oak Ridge.
Congressman Chuck Fleischmann introduced his bill, the Bonuses for Cost-Cutters Act, H.R. 378. This bill will enhance the existing program for federal employees who identify frivolous spending of taxpayer dollars by doubling the previous maximum bonus.
Congressman Chuck Fleischmann participated in the Congressional Football Game for Charity as a player on the Mean Machine, a bipartisan team of members of Congress and former NFL players. The Mean Machine took on the Guards, a team of Capitol Police officers.
