Act of 2016 Passes the House

Washington, D.C.— On Tuesday, April 26, 2016 Congressman Chuck Fleischmann’s bill H.R. 4820, the Combating Terrorist Recruitment Act of 2016, passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 322-79. Fleischmann’s legislation requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to utilize testimonials from former extremists and defectors to counter-message propaganda used in recruitment efforts of terrorist groups like ISIS.

Washington, D.C.— On Monday, April 25, 2016 Congressman Chuck Fleischmann will visit with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ officials for an update and to observe the restart of work on Chickamauga Dam’s new lock. As a House Appropriator, Fleischmann has worked tirelessly to ensure that this project would receive the nearly $30 million needed for fiscal year 2016. Construction on the new lock provides relief for many worried about the condition of the current lock, which was built in the 1930s.
