Tennessee Delegation Requests Medicare Enrollment Extension
for Victims of East Tennessee Wildfires
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today members of the Tennessee delegation sent a bipartisan, bicameral letter to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Acting Administrator Andy Slavitt to request CMS extend the open enrollment period for Medicare beneficiaries in Sevier County, Tennessee due to the recent wildfires.

“I am extremely saddened by the devastation left by last night’s severe storms in Polk and McMinn counties,” said Fleischmann. “My thoughts and prayers are with the people of these wonderful counties, especially the families who lost loved ones, those injured and the first responders who are currently on the ground. Please know I am monitoring this situation closely and am in constant contact with local officials.”
"My thoughts are with the young victims of the Woodmore Elementary School bus crash in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I am absolutely heartbroken over this tragedy and I will pray for the children and their families," said Fleischmann.

Fleischmann Welcomes Chattanooga ORNL Office
Washington, D.C.— Congressman Chuck Fleischmann (TN – 03) is pleased to be a part of Oak Ridge National Laboratory opening an office in downtown Chattanooga. Several world class facilities at the lab have been used to solve business and manufacturing problems for corporations nationwide and the lab will now focus on the Chattanooga area.
Fleischmann Welcomes Veterans to D.C.
Washington, D.C.— Today Congressman Chuck Fleischmann welcomed veterans with Honor Flight of Middle Tennessee to Washington. The veterans are in the nation’s capital visiting the monuments built in honor of their service.
“As the proud son of a WWII veteran, welcoming these legendary veterans to Washington, D.C. is an incredible honor,” said Fleischmann.

Fleischmann to Tour the Dewatering of Chickamauga Lock
Washington, D.C.— On Wednesday, August 3, 2016 Congressman Chuck Fleischmann will visit with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials for an update about the ongoing work at Chickamauga Lock and to observe the dewatering of the old Chickamauga Dam's lock. As a House Appropriator, Fleischmann has worked tirelessly to ensure the lock project would receive the nearly $30 million needed for fiscal year 2016.
