Foreign Aid
While foreign aid can be a pivotal instrument in carrying out U.S. foreign policy, our international aid programs must focus on maintaining and benefitting our national security.
Simply put, we must make it our duty to minimize our national debt and find ways to improve the economy. I agree there is considerable room for savings within our foreign aid budget and I will keep on monitoring foreign aid discussions as they arise in Congress.
Israel
I am committed to supporting policies enhancing the United States-Israel relationship, which will strengthen the security of both nations. Although I am dedicated to cutting spending throughout our government, I believe aid to Israel is critical to our security in the Middle East. Israel's security is simply non-negotiable.
In a part of the world full of ruthless dictatorships and repressive regimes, Israel remains an outpost of democracy and a steadfast ally. Israel is a light of civilization in a region that has known far too much darkness.
