OAK RIDGE, TN — This afternoon, the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Lab unveiled their newest supercomputer, Summit. Congressman Chuck Fleischmann participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for Outfall 200, the new Mercury Treatment Facility, at Y-12 National Security Complex. The facility will play an important role in the remediation of mercury contamination and pave the way for further cleanup work, such as the demolition of contaminated buildings.
Congressman Fleischmann attended the Department of Energy's 40th birthday celebation, applauding the work done by the DOE over the last 40 years including that at Y-12 and Oak Ridge.
