STATEMENT: Fleischmann Remarks on Border Security from San Diego, California

February 5, 2019
Press Release

SAN DIEGO, CA – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) issued the following statement upon conclusion of the San Diego, California portion of the southern border visit:

“As my visit to the southern border comes to a close, I would like to share my main takeaways from this trip. I viewed multiple forms of border barriers at many different locations. From the Hidalgo Port of Entry to the border between San Diego and Tijuana, the barriers were a key component to ensuring our border is safe and secure. In addition to the need for more strategic barriers, border patrol experts also expressed the need for additional technology and a greater number of border agents. When I return to Washington, I will reference my experiences and conversations as the conference committee works toward an agreement on border security.”
