Washington, D.C. – Today, Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) and the House Appropriations Committee released the Fiscal Year 2025 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies appropriations bill. The bill will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow, June 28th, at 8:30 am EST.

If Rep. Chuck Fleischmann's advocacy in Congress had to be summed up in a single word, it would be "nuclear."

That's not just nuclear power plants and nuclear weapons, but nuclear cleanup as well. Fleischmann's influence over nuclear projects is tied to his role as an appropriator in the House of Representatives overseeing funding to the Department of Energy.

Every American understands that the Department of Defense and the brave men and women of our armed services are the face and backbone of our national defense. What some may not be aware of are the contributions to both our national and energy security that the Department of Energy (DOE) makes, particularly through the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). As chairman of the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Subcommittee, which funds these agencies, I worked with my Republican colleagues in the House to pass this year’s funding bill that effectively used precious and limited taxpayer dollars to strengthen U.S. national security and energy security.
