STATEMENT: Congressman Fleischmann on Tax Reform

"I believe the time for tax reform is now. American families and companies should no longer be stifled by a tax code that is outdated and overcomplicated. Currently, our corporate tax rate is the highest in the developed world, and as a result jobs are going overseas causing American businesses to suffer. American families are struggling with high tax rates, and reform is necessary to allow them to keep more of their hard earned paychecks. Tax reform will bring back companies, create jobs, and spur economic growth. A tax code should be fair and simple, and not require Americans to waste countless hours and dollars. I will continue to monitor the progress of this framework as it moves through the Committee on Ways and Means, and look forward to tax reform that moves our country forward."
