RELEASE: Fleischmann Tours Cyber Crimes Center
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) issued the following statement after touring the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Cyber Crimes Center:
"I have always said that there are many aspects to the border security debate and my trip yesterday to the ICE Cyber Crimes Center reinforced this belief," said Congressman Fleischmann. "Americans know there is an ongoing humanitarian crisis at the southern border, but there is also a much more silent, and equally as dangerous world of cyber threats that pose a serious risk to our national security. The ICE Cyber Crimes Center acts as the hub for cyber related investigations – from economic crimes, to child exploitation, and the investigation of the dark web's role in facilitating illicit drugs – all of which present direct threats to our nation. The expertise housed at this facility is top-notch, and I am thankful for the work done there to protect our nation's sovereignty against the bad actors of the cyber realm."
