RELEASE: Fleischmann on Funding Announcement for Bradley County Veterans Home
BRADLEY COUNTY, TN — Congressman Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) issued the following statement of high praise after the announcement of a $26.2M U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) State Veterans Home Grant for the construction of the future Bradley County Tennessee State Veterans Home:
“Today is a monumental day for the veterans of East Tennessee, and I am thrilled that they have finally received the long overdue grant funding for the Bradley County Tennessee State Veterans Home. In my countless visits to Bradley County during my years in Congress, and I have had the privilege to speak with many of the remarkable veterans who have served our country so well, but have not had access to the proper care they deserve,” said Congressman Fleischmann.
“Last month I voted in support of the FY18 Omnibus, and while it was not a perfect piece of legislation, I knew it would likely be the only opportunity to make this project move forward. My vote for the Omnibus was a vote for the best care for our veterans, providing necessary increases in funding. Now, a portion of that funding will benefit our local veterans. Today, it was announced that Bradley County is the recipient of a Veterans Home Construction Grant totaling over $26 million for the future Bradley County Tennessee State Veterans Home. I want to thank everyone involved for making this project a success, and I am proud to be a part of it.”
