House Passes Plan To Keep Government Functioning and Fight Obamacare
WASHINGTON− The House has passed yet another bill to keep the American government open and functioning. The bill includes a one-year delay of Obamacare’s individual mandate, something Democrats in both the House and Senate have supported. Additionally, the bill removes federal healthcare subsidies for Members of Congress and their staff.
“Once again the House has passed a bipartisan bill that will prevent a government shutdown and includes proposals that Democrats in both chambers have supported. Hopefully Majority Leader Reid and the Democrats will finally come to the negotiating table. The House has been willing to work toward a solution and we have now provided three different options to the obstructionist Senate. Each time though, Senate Democrats have simply buried their heads in the sand rather than doing the job they were elected to do.”
