Fleischmann Statement on Vice President Harris Visiting the Southern Border

Press Release

Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) released the following statement on Vice President Kamala Harris’ upcoming visit to the southern border:

“It has been 91 days since President Biden chose Vice President Harris to lead the response to the border crisis that the Administration’s failed border policies have created. From revoking the Remain in Mexico Policy to canceling border wall construction, President Biden and V.P. Harris have created and exacerbated the national security and humanitarian crisis we are witnessing.”

“I am glad that the V.P. has finally found the time to visit the border and see the crisis firsthand. I hope that the Administration and Congressional Democrats will work with Republicans to finally secure the border and reinstate former-President Donald Trump’s border policies.”

On April 13, 2021, Congressman Fleischmann led a letter to V.P. Harris calling on her to visit the southern border. Rep. Fleischmann was joined by Reps. John Katko (NY-24), Ashley Hinson (IA-01), Diana Harshbarger (TN-01), Carlos Gimenez (FL-26), Dan Bishop (NC-09), and Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02).
