Washington, DC — Congressman Chuck Fleischmann has successfully secured $3 million in federal funding to advance the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) Translational Research Program. This significant investment underscores UTC’s commitment to pioneering research and innovation that directly benefits the community and the region.

The funding, awarded as part of a federal appropriations package, will support UTC’s efforts to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and real-world application. The Translational Research Program at UTC focuses on translating groundbreaking research into practical solutions.

“I am proud to champion investments that strengthen our region’s future. This $3 million in federal funding for UTC’s Translational Research Program will empower our university to turn cutting-edge research into real solutions that benefit Chattanooga, the entire state of Tennessee, and our great nation. Supporting innovation and higher education is critical to creating jobs, advancing technology, and improving lives right here at home,” said Congressman Fleischmann.

“This investment represents an important next step in expanding UTC’s research enterprise and strengthening our ability to turn discovery into solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives,” Chancellor Lori Mann Bruce said. “As these funds become available, we can begin putting the people, tools and infrastructure in place to move promising ideas from the laboratory into practical application. We are deeply grateful to Congressman Fleischmann for once again investing in UTC and recognizing the important role our University can play in driving innovation, economic growth and opportunity for Chattanooga, Tennessee and beyond.”

Congressman Fleischmann’s support reflects his ongoing commitment to advancing science, technology, and education in Tennessee. With this funding, UTC will expand research opportunities and foster collaborations with industry and community partners.
