Chuck Fleischmann participates in moment of silence on House floor in remembrance of storm victims

May 3, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann participated in a moment of silence on the House floor, with other members from the Southeast, in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the severe storms last week.

“I was so glad to see members of Congress, from both parties, coming together on the House floor in a moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives in the severe storms last week. In times of need, we as an American people come together to help and remember. We have done that over the last week in Southeast Tennessee, and we did it today in the House. I have seen first-hand the damage caused by the storms, both structurally and emotionally, and I know we have a long way to go until the road to recovery is finished. However, with an attitude and spirit of togetherness, I know we will get there,” Fleischmann said.
