Chuck Fleischmann to have constituent testify on behalf of small businesses

February 14, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann announced today that he has asked Terry Frank, a small business owner in Oak Ridge, to come testify before Congress on the effect our tax policy has on small business owners in America. The hearing, entitled "Putting Americans Back to Work: The State of the Small Business Economy", will take place on Wednesday, February 16, in Washington.

"I have known Terry for quite some time now, and know that she is absolutely the right person to come before Congress and testify on behalf of small business owners everywhere. At my urging, the Small Business Committee invited her, and I am glad she accepted," Fleischmann said.

"Whether it is tax policy, regulations or ObamaCare, small business owners across America are being suffocated by their own government, and it must be stopped. I am glad Terry will be coming before the committee to explain where an overreaching government has gone wrong, and the real-world impact it is having on the backbone of our economy. It is for folks like Terry that I continue my fight on behalf of business owners everywhere as we work to get the federal government out of their way."

"I am honored to be invited to testify before the Small Business Committee where I plan to take a message of not only less taxation, but tax code simplification," Mrs. Frank said.

"I genuinely appreciate Congressman Fleischmann's work on this committee to remove onerous government regulation that stifles small business.

"It is my belief that small businesses in America can better invest their money than Congress can. I hope to help the committee understand how hard small business people work – that our profits aren't windfalls and we don't need to be micro-managed."

Terry Frank owns and operates Nature's Marketplace in Oak Ridge, Tennessee with her husband, Lee.
