Chuck Fleischmann comments on June jobs report

July 8, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann commented on the June jobs report released by the U.S. Department of Labor today.

“Today’s report shows once again that this Administration’s philosophy of ‘tax, borrow, spend’ is not one that is working, or will work. This President says his top priority is job creation, yet he does everything he can to stand in the way of jobs actually being created. Americans have faced more government regulations, higher gas prices and less certainty in the economy since President Obama took office, and the increase in unemployment last month speaks once again to his job-destroying policies,” Fleischmann said.

“The Republican-led House has passed a budget, and many other pieces of legislation, that will bring federal spending under control, remove the federal government as an obstacle to private sector job creation, allow for more domestic production of oil and natural gas and will get the American economic engine running again. It is the men and women across America who start businesses and hire workers that produce jobs, not the federal government – and today’s jobs report proves that once again.”
