Chuck Fleischmann Comments on January Unemployment Numbers

February 4, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann commented on today’s job report that puts unemployment at 9%, or above, for the 21st straight month.

“As the Obama Administration, and Democrats in congress, continue to advocate for more spending and ‘shovel-ready jobs’ the economic reports continue to show that their ideas of more spending simply are not working. With only 36,000 jobs added to the workforce in January, we have seen the lowest added jobs number in 4 months,” Fleischmann said.

“We must begin reigning in the size of government and letting businesses operate in a free environment that allows them to hire and make capital, as Republicans have been advocating. We can no longer keep our heads in the sand, and pretend a bigger federal government will fix this problem – it will not. It is time to cut the budget, and reduce regulations on American businesses.”

Congressman Fleischmann will be talking with Fox News Radio about the unemployment numbers later this afternoon.
