Chuck Fleischmann celebrates Thanksgiving

November 24, 2011

CHATTANOOGA – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann celebrated our National Day of Thanksgiving.

“So often is the case these days, especially in politics, we are reminded of the problems our communities and country are struggling with on a daily basis. It is not often enough that we are reminded of the numerous reasons we have to be thankful for the country we live in, the friends we have and the families who supports us. As we gather around the dinner table today, as I will be doing with my family, let us take time to remember all that we have to be thankful for,” Fleischmann said.

“I am thankful for my wife and three boys, and the family we have become over the last two decades. I am thankful for my 86 year old dad who still lives close to me and who I talk to almost every day; I am thankful for the freedoms he fought for during World War Two. I am thankful for all of the American men and women who are serving, or have served, our great nation, and the sacrifices they have made so we could all be free. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the 3rd District of Tennessee in Congress and the great people we have in East Tennessee. I am thankful to live in the United States of America, and all the freedom that affords. For all of the challenges that lie ahead, we are still the shining city on a hill for the rest of the world.

“May God bless you, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.”
