Fleischmann: The American people need bipartisanship from Congress, they don’t have time for political games
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) released the following statement ahead of the House vote on H.R. 6800:
“The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the life of every American. I have spoken to countless constituents across East Tennessee who are now unemployed or worried about their small business surviving. Congress should serve as an example of unity and leadership as the nation combats this awful virus. Unfortunately, the bill put forth by the Democrats before Congress today was three trillion dollars of pure partisanship. I cannot in good conscious vote for a bill that was created behind closed doors without any input from the other party. The American people need bipartisanship from Congress, they don’t have time for political games, and neither should we.”
Earlier today, Fleischmann spoke on the House floor to urge his colleagues to vote no on H.R. 6800.
