Congressman Chuck Fleischmann introduced his bill, the Bonuses for Cost-Cutters Act, H.R. 378. This bill will enhance the existing program for federal employees who identify frivolous spending of taxpayer dollars by doubling the previous maximum bonus.
Congressman Chuck Fleischmann participated in the Congressional Football Game for Charity as a player on the Mean Machine, a bipartisan team of members of Congress and former NFL players. The Mean Machine took on the Guards, a team of Capitol Police officers.
Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Rep. Mac Thornberry, joined Congressman Chuck Fleischmann before their visit to Oak Ridge. The congressman talked about plans for defense spending going forward, and how it will affect Oak Ridge and national security.
"This morning, my heart goes out to the city of Las Vegas. As I monitor the situation, I am devastated by the senseless act of violence that occurred last night as Americans came together to attend a concert. I thank the selfless and quick efforts of first responders and emergency personnel.
