Fleischmann Will Participate in Nuclear Cleanup Caucus Event

Washington, D.C.— Tomorrow Congressman Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN), Chair of the House Nuclear Cleanup Caucus, will be participating in the last event for the caucus of the year. The discussion will focus on current research and development within the Department of Energy and the commercial nuclear sector that considerably improves safety for nuclear cleanup activities.

“This caucus is so important because it allows legislators, Department of Energy officials and other key environmental leaders to work together to strengthen our mission,” said Fleischmann. “I have seen firsthand in my District how nuclear cleanup can positively affect an area and I look forward to our continued success in raising awareness for nuclear cleanup across the country.”

The Department of Energy will also demonstrate two miniature robots and the Bimanual Dexterous Robotic Platform, otherwise known as "Robo Sally".

The event is hosted by the Energy, Technology and Environmental Business Association (ETEBA), the Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG), and the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).
