Fleischmann Votes to Repeal “Trainwreck” Known as Obamacare

May 16, 2013

WASHINGTON− Congressman Chuck Fleischmann voted today to fully repeal Obamacare. Following passage of the repeal bill he released the following comments.

“Since Democrats blindly passed this legislation, against the will of the American people in 2010, hard working taxpayers have seen $1 trillion dollars in new taxes and over $2 trillion dollars in new spending. This job stifling legislation has been cited by 70% of small businesses as a major obstacle to job creation and is causing restaurants like Hardees to move full-time workers to par-time.

“Even some Democrats are realizing how devastating this boondoggle has become. One of Obamacare’s chief architects, Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT), labeled it a ‘train wreck’. All of this before the embattled IRS is set to hire an additional 2,000 employees to enforce Obamacare. Americans don’t deserve to have their healthcare governed by this politically calculating entity. The first vote I took was to repeal Obamacare, and I will continue voting until we rid our nation of this law.”
