Fleischmann Fights For Fiscal Responsibility

February 11, 2014

WASHINGTON− The House tonight passed an extension of the debt ceiling, increasing the burden on the American people. Following passage, Congressman Fleischmann made the following statement.

“I am deeply disappointed in the legislation that passed in the House tonight. For a nation that is already over $17 trillion in debt, we can’t simply continue raising the limit on the President’s credit card. We must restore fiscal responsibility by making serious spending reforms in order to not saddle our children and grandchildren with this immense burden. I will continue to fight against the President’s reckless spending habits so that we can preserve the American dream for future generations.”
