December 1, 2011

CHATTANOOGA – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann will be hosting German Ambassador to the United States Peter Ammon in Chattanooga on Monday, December 5. The visit will consist of a tour of the Volkswagen plant and a luncheon with area business leaders.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to host Ambassador Ammon in Chattanooga and show him our great city. The ties between the Chattanooga area and Germany are strong. Whether it is Volkswagen, Wacker, or our German city sister of Hamm, our relationship goes back many years and has only grown stronger more recently. I look forward to showing the Ambassador what our area has to offer and discuss with him how we can strengthen our relationship going forward," Fleischmann said.

"I am looking forward to visiting the great city of Chattanooga with Congressman Fleischmann. As we can see from Volkswagen and Wacker, German companies know that Chattanooga is not just a great city to invest in, but also a great city to raise a family. I look forward to making the ties between Chattanooga and Germany even stronger," Ambassador Ammon said.

This will be Ambassador Ammon's first visit to Chattanooga.
