Chuck Fleischmann condemns President Obama's rejection of Keystone XL pipeline: "This hypocrisy is shameful"

January 18, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann condemned President Obama's rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline permit.

"Last week, President Obama held a meeting at the White House to promote the idea of ‘insourcing' jobs to America, and now he turns around and rejects a measure that would have created tens of thousands of jobs in America in order to please a fringe group he needs for re-election. This hypocrisy is shameful, and it exemplifies the President's desire for re-election over what our country truly needs. Increased energy production in North America and more jobs in the United States are obvious steps toward solving two major problems we face, but the President has decided to please his environmentalist friends instead. It has become much harder to believe anything President Obama says regarding job creation in this country," Fleischmann said.
